Meet Barbara McGee Strauss, PMHNP-BC

Barbara Strauss is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. She is committed to providing individualized, balanced care that helps patients address their concerns and feel supported throughout treatment.

Her approach recognizes the importance of psychotherapy and healthy lifestyle choices, with medication used when appropriate as part of a tailored, evidence-based treatment plan.

Through careful listening, open communication, and shared decision-making, she works with patients to understand their goals, explore their options, and support meaningful progress.

Who she sees

Children as young as 4, teens, adults, and older adults, in person at the Boise office and by secure telehealth across the Treasure Valley and all of Idaho.

What to expect

Psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management, with brief solution-focused therapy built into visits. Therapy-only appointments and court-ordered evaluations aren't offered. No referral is needed, and new patients are welcome.
